Mt.Shasta

New page on my website: Winter in the North State

When we first moved to the North State, and began driving home north/east on Hwy 32, there was a bend in the road where suddenly we could see the top of Mt. Shasta along with Mt. Lassen in the distance. Beautiful, majestic twins, it always brought a smile to our faces, and still does to this day. They are one of the many landmark in this area that give us gratitude for being able to live here. I have created a new page on my website, called: Winter in the North State, hopefully some of the images will inspire you as they do me.

Happy Birthday 91st Birthday mom

Happy Birthday Mom

Today is my mom's 91st birthday. She has been a model for many things in my life, but always I remember that she introduced me to the love of books and reading. She was an avid reader and later in life, a published author. Today, she loves her family and flowers, which I try to bring her whenever I see her. Happy Birthday Mom.

Winter in the North State

Observing the changes in the weather visually is a way for me to stay grounded and focused. I even love watching the weather reports and the weather channel for that reason. When I'm out photographing, I can be totally present to that change, and if I'm lucky, capture some images that reflect it.

Winter in the North State

I have had a lapse of a season or two since the last time I blogged. The new year is always a good time for endings and beginnings so it gives me an opportunity to start again. Since my summer project of photographing pioneer cemeteries and grave sites throughout Northern California, I have traveled to Seattle and seen the birth of my first grandaughter, been selected to exhibit 2 photographs in the Snow Geese Festival at the end of the month, and enjoyed visiting with my whole family over the holidays. I'm inspired now to show my vision of the beauty I see in the North State in this season. Happy New Year.
